unknown to known
“Unknown to Known” was inspired by Day 4 of “Healing through Belonging”
Open your Bible to Ephesians 3:1-13.
Paul begins this section describing his calling: to preach to the Gentiles the “unsearchable riches of Christ.”
In verses 1–6, he reveals a profound mystery—that Gentiles (non-Jews) are now fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise. That includes us.
You’re not on the outside of God’s plan looking in.
You're not tolerated. You're chosen. And your story—what you've been through—is not sidelined. It’s part of the divine mystery being revealed. We can be reminded that we are not outsiders of God's plan by being in a church community. Paul is celebrating what Christ is doing through His church, and we are invited to be an active member of a church community.
In verses 7–13, Paul reflects on the grace given to him to carry this message. He sees himself as “less than the least,” and yet entrusted with this purpose. Paul was confident in the calling that God had given to him. Paul was called to Preach. Even though Paul had a history of rejecting God’s people, God still used him to minister to others. Even in suffering, Paul does not lose heart—because the Gospel gives his life meaning and strength.
We cannot do anything outside of the power of the Gospel.
The Gospel is a message for the church, but the Gospel also impacts us individually. There is an eternal reality that the Gospel reveals to us.
God’s mystery includes me.
Repeat that line to yourself. God’s mystery includes me. God’s mystery includes us.
Since Jesus’ death and resurrection allows for everyone to have an invitation to His family, His mystery includes us. We do not have to wonder if we have a place in the united body of Christ. Even though churches will have their differences, the church is united through their profession of believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus.
You are part of the sacred mystery God is unfolding. No pain, no past, no label can disqualify you from being included in Christ. A mystery is being made known to you.
Ask Jesus: What mystery are you revealing to me today?
