Hurt to Healed
Hurt.
We all have an image that we associate with the word, “hurt.” The images that comes to our minds may have a significant impact on how we make decisions. Hurt does not have a time limit. One could feel hurt for an hour, or one could feel hurt for endless hours. One may only feel hurt when they see a specific place or person. While others may feel hurt regardless of where they are.
Hurt implies that something has been done to you.
When something negative has been done to us, the feeling is impactful because we were out of control of the situation. While hurt demands attention, we do not have to dwell in our hurt. Through Jesus, our hurt is an opportunity for us to receive healing from Jesus. I don’t believe that God causes our moments of feeling hurt, but God uses those moments to reveal His Healing Power.
Our moments of Hurt are moments to see Him.
God doesn’t leave us alone because His Heart Hurts for those who turn away from Him. Even when people disobeyed God, God still pursued His hurting people. The feeling of hurt reveals the distance that sin creates between us and God. However, God sent Jesus to earth to Heal His people. Hurt people have been pursued by God because God had a plan to Heal them.
Hurt implies that there is something for God to Heal.
Healing can look like a number of things. I believe that we are always being invited into a deeper level of healing with the Holy Spirit. We are able to ask the Holy Spirit what lies we have been holding onto. We can expose the lies, and we can reject the lies. God does not let us go when He is handling the lies that we have believed. I imagine the lies that I have believed about myself are in a basket. I am able to hand over the basket to God, and He throws the lies away. God holds onto us as He is throwing out the enemies lies.
We are invited to allow God to Hold us. He holds us when we feel hurt. He calls us Holy even when we feel hurt. God does not let our hurt change His place as our Father. While you may feel hurt, you can choose to be held by Him.
